Pressure Reducing Station
Feature:
- Steam is often generated at high pressure and reduced locally to provide heat for each steam user.
- Usually done to minimize the diameter of steam distribution piping and enable more cost-efficient steam delivery.
- To ensure maximum efficiency of Steam System.
- To generate & distribute steam at highest possible pressure and utilize steam at lowest possible pressure.
Important:
- PRV to be installed between isolating valves, which are manually adjustable.
- Pressure Gauge to be installed both inlet & outlet.
- Emergency by-pass line should be implemented, in case PRV system failed.
